Flaxseed oil, Omega 3,6,9, DHA, EPA..etc, so many new health concepts, do I need to take them all to maintain health? What are the essentials?

People seem to lose sight of the fact that what we eat is supposed to give us requirements on a daily basis. I think there is a danger in thinking that if we just take this or that pill then we needn't worry about what we eat.
BIG MISTAKE.
I think that if we eat a very broad variety of foods across all the food groups then there is very little that your body won't get in the way of nutrition.
Maintaining Health is about a balance between intake and output,exercise and rest,what upsets us and happiness,
A pill won't solve all of this.
As a vegetarian for nearly 40 years I try to eat at least 8 different foods each day, I think about what I get in a week not a day as a rule.
It seems to work. ( I'm a little overweight even!!)
One aspect of food in the modern world is that unfortunately our soils have become mineral deficient, so I always suggest a multi-mineral supplement or solution.
I hope that this gives food for thought.
