Are 5 cups of coffee a day good for you? It seems to be the case for preventing dementia and alzheimers (community)
Every now and again some study comes along that blows conventional thinking out of the water. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/8132122.stmAdmittedly this is only shown in mice so far, and it doesn't take into account any negative effects of coffee, but I remember the common convention about butter being dangerous for health (and margarine more healthy) back in the late 1970's. Time has shown that butter in moderation turns out to be much healthier than margarine.
Will coffee in moderation also turn out to be a good thing after all?

Yes, 5 cups a day is definitely the way to go! As long as it's real coffee (not instant), that is - and I think Bali coffee is the best.
You'll notice that the above-mentioned BBC website provides links to other articles detailing beneficial effects of caffeine consumption:
Daily caffeine `protects brain'
Coffee `protects female memory'
I choose to focus on all the positives with caffeine consumption - there are reputedly some less desirable effects associated with caffeine, but I haven't experienced any of those (or maybe I'm just not admitting to them). . . (or I don't consume enough on a daily basis to protect against failing memory and so I just don't recall them . . . )
